Introduction
The National Audit Academy was established as a development project of the National Audit Department (NAD) under the 8th Malaysia Plan. The construction began on 15 August 2002 and was fully operational in September 2005. NAA is located in Bandar Enstek, Nilai, Negeri Sembilan, 55 kilometers from the NAD Headquarters in Putrajaya and 10 kilometers from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA). The NAA has a land area of 20 acres. It is the intention of the NAD that this academy to be used as a platform to improve professionalism and as an accreditation body for public auditors. The NAA is given the responsibility to provide a systematic and comprehensive training programme to ensure that all NAD staff are equipped with competency-based training and continuous learning. It takes into account the current training needs and prepares for future challenges. In addition, it also serves to promote awareness in the public sector on the importance of public accountability through courses offered in key areas namely auditing, accounting, information technology and management
The academy is headed by a Director and supported by 55 academic and administrative officers. The courses offered are under 5 programmes namely Auditing, Accounting, Management, Information Technology and International & Coordination
